The Ex-Bombers play dirtbag spy jazz or beatnik punk, depending on who describes it, though both represent facets of the group's seedy sound. The duo started in 2010, Keri Cousins provides the rhythm for the pair on a small Rogers drumset and provides her vocals. Scott Walus plays a Hagstrom 8-string bass (EADG octaves) and shares vocals.

They play dark but catchy songs using only these instruments, without distortion of digital trickery. The songs result from crashing into the awkward years of adulthood when the hangovers last two days instead of just one. This all leads to an uneasy but provocative alliance between the flippant sounds of early Velvet Underground/Sonic Youth and the content and style of Soft Cell or Girls Against Boys.

They return to Be Here Now and Muncie Indiana after touring the Midwest heavily and opening for The Pack A.D. in Chicago.

Hey everyone! It's been a bit since we jammed the Now, and I encourage you to make it out to this show! The last time we had Tristen Brooke in town, they wowed everyone with their infectious rhythms and mesmerizing picking style. 

Also this will be the last time to catch Tonal Caravan locally for some time, as we re-organize, re-brand, write new tunes and set off into new musical territories.

Les Racquet  is a Brooklyn NY based jazz/roots/rock trio with three-part vocal harmonies and technically expressive musicianship.  The trio conveys energy and vitality on stage by unleashing bursts of rock n’ roll improv around intimate vocal moments and performs songs that pique the interest of learned musicians and mainstream listeners alike. The youthful trio demonstrate an ability to move between classic and worldly genres while adding their own contemporary edge to each style.  The band respects the diversity of individual tastes and prides itself on an ability to entertain fans from all backgrounds

The 2015 lineup

For its ninth year, some of the best homegrown local and regional talent will once again come together for one epic day of live music called Muncie MusicFest on Saturday, October 10th.
From 5pm to 10pm, the festival will pack all three floors of the beautiful Cornerstone Center for the Arts with six all-ages stages and over 30 bands. After 10pm, fine drinking establishments throughout Muncie will take over and host an additional ten bands for music lovers 21 and over. The best part? All of the concerts at all participating locations will be absolutely free to attend, presented as a gift to the community.

Whether you prefer rock, folk, hip-hop, electronica, heavy metal, punk, or bluegrass, you’ll find it at Muncie MusicFest, along with hours of opportunities to explore, discover, and find new favorites among the dozens of bands who will be performing. Cash bars will be available at Cornerstone to patrons 21 and over, and food trucks will be on site to help fuel the party until 10pm. Afterward, Be Here Now, The Acoustic Room, The Ballroom, and The Fickle Peach will keep the festival going with their own free concerts.

Muncie MusicFest 2015 has been made possible with funding from the Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County and the Ball Brothers Foundation, and through the efforts of the Full Circle Arts Co-op and Cornerstone Center for the Arts. Additional support has been provided by WLBC, MAX, Sight and Sound Music Center, and Abercrombie Ink.
