Bob Ross Painting Workshop

Learn Bob’s signature “wet-on-wet” technique from an experienced Certified Ross Instructor® and paint in the building where The Joy of Painting was filmed! Just bring yourself, and we will provide everything you need to have a wonderful time. Just like Bob said, “Let’s get crazy!”

Join us Wednesdays for a 6 week program to explore drawing materials & mediums. Be challenged through using familiar materials in new ways and new mediums you haven't had the chance to play with yet. 

Ages 9-13 will focus on quick sketches of common items in our space, fun prompts, and tips to learn the new materials. Every other week is a new drawing medium.

Ages 14-24 will focus on quick sketches of live figures and a deep dive on a still life with challenges and tips to get more out of the mediums. Each week is a new drawing medium and still life.

Join us at Kat’s Crystals for a Crystal Healing workshop ! The workshop will cost $20 per person and will include a beginner’s class session + 2 crystals to take home! Discover the art of traditional bookbinding in this hands-on workshop! Students will learn how to create a classic stab-bound book from start to finish, gaining foundational skills and an appreciation for this timeless binding technique. Each participant will complete and take home their own handcrafted book—perfect for journaling, sketching, or gifting. All tools and supplies will be provided.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll craft a copper or brass pendant using Precious Metal Clay (PMC)—a moldable clay made of real metal particles that transforms into solid metal when kiln-fired. Learn how to cut, texture, and layer your piece while working with the clay in both its wet and green (dry) stages. Finished pendants will be kiln-fired by the instructor and ready for pickup the following week.

All tools, supplies, and safety gear will be provided; please wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty. Preregistration is strongly preferred; limited walk-in tickets may be available—please call ahead.

Every Third Thursday, MadJax Maker Force and the Muncie Makers Market partner to transform the building into an indoor Night Market experience. To shape the experience each month, The Night Market is layered with a rotating hands-on creative activity, a new exhibition opening in the Toolsong Gallery, and a live music performance to enhance your evening of shopping with our local Artisans. No two nights look exactly the same, and each one offers an easy, welcoming way to explore, make, and connect.

While you’re here to Sip & Shop, have an adventure ​w​ith MadJax tours and jump into Drop-In Creative Corner, a relaxed Thursday evening hang where makers of all skill levels gather to craft, tinker, and create together. Bring a project you’re already working on, try something new with provided supplies, or simply enjoy making alongside others (no class commitment required).

Guests are invited to wander the fascinating former factory that houses MadJax, meet local Makers, Sip & Shop, catch live music, and take in new artwork. MadJax will be open for tours, giving visitors a chance to explore the maker spaces, studios, and creative businesses housed throughout the building. FREE Admission and FREE Parking!
