LE THEATRE DU GRAND GUIGNOL: CABARET ABSINTHE & MENAGERIE MACABRE

    Tickets $8/ $5 w/ Student ID

Before there was any such thing as a horror movie, there was the horror play!  Think, Dog! Productions is offering up a mid-winter treat: two halves of a disturbing yet tantalizing whole. This is no-limits splatter theater, a production drenched in gallons of blood and...other things.  Huddle under the plastic sheeting with your Valentine!

Author and guest director Darrin Murrell takes his cue from the tradition of the horror play, a genre popularized by Paris's historic Grand-Guignol Theatre at the turn of the 20th century.

Act One of our original piece is Cabaret Absinthe, a dark domestic journey guided by the musical Green Fairy. Act Two, Menagerie Macabre, shifts the action to the farthest flung outposts of Eastern Europe.  These two original pieces pay homage to a style that seems ever more popular.

Written and directed by Darrin Murrell.
Starring Josh Carroll, Mia Dietrich, Barry McMullen, Olivia Schaperjohn, Katy Wolfe.
