Garrison Keillor was born in 1942 in Anoka, Minnesota, and began his radio career at the University of Minnesota, from which he graduated in 1966. On July 6, 1974, he hosted the first broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion in St. Paul. Today, some 4 million listeners on more than 600 public radio stations tune in to the show each week.

MSO Fisher/Shafer Holiday Pops 2013

Kick off your holiday season with the Muncie Symphony Orchestra, starring a Broadway singer Emily Drennan,  and featuring special guest artists-  Ball State University Singers and Department of Theatre and Dance students in a new show "A Christmas Journey" by RoxSteadyMusic. Come enjoy this classic Broadway-style show that features singing, dancing, and all of your favorite holiday songs.

Come enjoy the only yearly production program of our America’s HometownBands, a community volunteer band, led by Roger McConnell, music director and their guests. The Muncie Symphony Orchestra will present a nationally acclaimed musical theater show, Tchaikovsky Discovers America, as part of our Classical Series. The program will feature an all-Tchaikovsky program, interwoven with an exciting true story of Tchaikovsky's trip to America, presented by the Classical Kids Music Education actors from Chicago. It's a great concert for the entire family!
